This standard is important because education is constantly changing and becoming more advanced, therefore it is necessary that teachers evolve with the profession and adapt to ensure they are continuing to promote the best learning experience.
Artifact #1: NEA
This artifact, NEA (National Education Association) is a professional organization that promotes the unity of educators across the country to successfully prepare each student to thrive in the real world. It is important for teachers to stay connected with each other and promote the education profession together.
Artifact #2: Red Cross
This artifact, the American Red Cross, directed my certification in CPR/AED and First Aid. With my undergraduate degree in Athletic Training, I am very aware of the importance CPR/AED and First Aid training is. As a teacher important to maintain such certifications to continually be prepared to make sure my students are safe inside the classroom at all times.
Artifact #3: NSTA
This artifact, the NSTA, the National Science Teaching Association, is a professional organization designed to promote science education in the classroom and the impact on students’ learning. As an educational professional, joining different organizations and associations is a great way to learn more about the profession and meet people who share the same ideas as you. It is always nice to hear how others are doing who are also in the same profession as you and going through similar situations. By joining these different groups, teachers are able to continue to grow and develop within the profession as well.
