Summary:

InTASC standard three, Learning Environments, was established to ensure teachers’ demonstration of fostering both individual and collaborative learning. Adherence to this standard generates an active and positive learning environment. Teachers who cultivate effective learning environments support peer interaction as well as teamwork between students, teachers, and parents. Exemplary learning environments are steeped with experiences which promote students motivation to explore, discover and share new information in engaging ways.

Importance:

Artifact #2: Classroom Management Plan

This artifact demonstrates my ability to design classroom organizational plans. Predictable daily, weekly, and monthly routines are instituted so students may focus on learning content in a safe and stable environment. Teachers’ adherence to InTASC standard three provides structure, and helps students develop self-regulation skills as well as patterns of behavior which set the foundation for a solid work ethic. An evidence-based classroom management plan is a tool that exemplary teachers use to successfully maintain a dynamic learning environment.

Artifact #3:- Classroom Jobs

This artifact demonstrates my ability to cultivate student responsibility within the classroom. Classroom jobs provide opportunities for students to gain skills in time management. Jobs provide a chance for students to understand what it means to be relied upon, to complete a task well, and follow through in a thorough manner. Having duties hones students’ sense of belonging and connectedness to the learning environment and gives them a sense of pride in their contribution to the classroom community. Adherence to standard three enhances students’ skills of cooperation, independent thinking, and self-reliance.
